Water for Elephants

Rachel, Michelle and myself had a little girls night last week and went to see the film Water for Elephants. Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon really did a good job on this movie. I love Rob, (I am, of course, a bonafide Twilight geek) but I normally feel indifferent about Reese. I had remembered seeing a few trailers for the movie but went in to the theater not really knowing the storyline nor had I read the book it is based on. I think that is the best way to see this film, because Michelle had read the book and got a little annoyed by the differences. She said she still really liked it, but it's always hard for the movie live up to the books. I think I'll read the book now after seeing the film.

Anyways the cinematography is great and the plot is new and different, and well put together. Plus Rob looks amazing and there are a lot of animals and Reese's hair and wardrobe had me wishing the 1930's circus look would come in style (and that I had her body!).

Mini Mountain Vacay

Rich and I were able to get away for a little mini break just before I start my summer classes on Monday. We left Saturday and got back Tuesday afternoon. It was a well needed break, the kind you didn't realize you needed til you got there. We got to do it very cost efficiently also, my dad and his wife were actually supposed to go to Gatlinburg last year but they had some unexpected issues and they couldn't make it. They had the amount they paid put on a voucher to be put towards a cabin but they only had one year to use it and they weren't going to be able to go so they let Rich and I go in their place! We even had enough left over to pay for two Aquarium tickets!

If you ever go to Gatlinburg you have to eat at Dick's Last Resort. It's good food and the atmosphere is great, all the servers and people who work there are basically 'dicks' to the guest. They just cut up with you, it's very sarcastic. Like as soon as we walked in, the host grabbed the picture I was holding (a $12 4x6 picture of me kissing Rich on the cheek on the Sky Lift) and let us know how 'annoying' we were! Then the servers feel you out during your dinner, seeing what they can tease you about then they make paper hats for you. We told them we had recently gotten married and we were from Kentucky so Rich's paper hat said "I married my cousin" and mine read "I married my brother". It was a totally different vibe and was a great way to spend our last night in the mountains!

And when we got back to our home sweet home I had a package awaiting me!!!
I ordered some feather hair extensions and they finally got here! They are so cool! Rich forgot to bring me home some needle nose pliers so hopefully I'll get them put in tomorrow and I'll post pictures! I got the idea from my amazing sister-in-law, Amanda. Her and her husband Robbie (Rich's brother) are stationed out in Las Vegas (Robbie is in the Air Force) and we get to face time on Rich's iPhone 4 about once a week and she told me about them! They look great on her!
